Successful evidence-based drug policy change requires evidence-based drug policy options to be adopted by political parties and other actors capable of putting them into practice. Many academics get frustrated that evidence is apparently ignored in the policy process and to many, success or failure in drug policy change seems largely random and unfathomable.
